Nos 1 to 10 (consec)
(The whole terrace)
(Formerly listed as Brigstoke Terrace)
II
In character this terrace would suggest the date of about 1860, but it was
actually built before 1833. Architect James Sanderson. Four storeys and base-
ment. Twenty-eight windows in all. Cemented fronts. The terrace is composed
of 7 sections. At the ends are pavilions of 3 windows each, flanked by pil-
asters with a cornice above 2nd floor, wide bracket eaves cornice and hipped
slate roofs; round-headed windows and iron balconies with hoods on 1st floor,
also another balcony without hood on 3rd floor. Then come recessed sections
of 7 windows each, with cornice above 2nd floor, mansarded slate roof above
with dormer windows; windows in architrave surround and iron balcony without
hood on 1st floor. Then projecting portions of 1 window bay each, having large
triple windows flanked by pilasters and surmounted by pediments on the 1st
floor, and higher top storey containing another triple window with extra cornice
and parapet about it. Then the centre piece of 6 windows recessed, 1st floor
windows and balcony as in the end pavilions but the top storey plain with only
an extra cornice and parapet and all the windows except those on the 1st floor
