Details
EASINGTON SPINDLESTONE NU 13 SE 8/143 Farmbuildings c.50 yards east of Spindles tone Farmhouse GV II Planned farm. Mid C19. Snecked stone with Welsh slate roof. 4 ranges round a stock yard. Facade has central, tall, cross-gabled, round-arched carriage entry with imposts, keystones, chamfered surround and boarded double doors; dovecote above in gable has 3 rows of pigeon holes with stone alighting ledges. Flanking single-storey ranges: cartshed and forge to left with 2 segmental arches, a boarded door and half-shuttered window; byres to right with 4 boarded doors. Gabled roof. Ranges to rear include engine house with tall, square, brick, corniced chimney. On left side a large open cattle shed. Range on right side has byres on ground floor and granary over. In the centre a range of 6 pig sties.
