Midway along the South Road garden front of St Joseph's Convent a high stone rubble
wall with brick capping starts. The rest of the wall to the north has been rebuilt
in later red brick. The rubble built section runs south stepping down the hill,
and has a large segmental brick headed archway (blocked) at the far corner where
the wall turns at right angles from the road. The wall then continues down to
join the stretch of wall on Mount Walk. Buttresses for the wall are set on the
inside. On Mount Walk the wall continues to the north with a gentle curve before
ending to the west of the Convent. The further sections are rebuilt and are not
included.
St Joseph's Convent, Summerhouse in grounds, and stone walls to the grounds form
a group.
