Details
COMBEFIELDS SP48SW 2/41 Peter Hall 06/10/60 - II House. Converted from C14 and C15 church in C16. Late C18 extensions. Sandstone ashlar with old tile roof. Brick stacks to ridge and end. 2 storeys; 5-window range. C20 part-glazed door under leaded overlight with stained glass. Wood pilaster doorcase. To left of door, in angle of chapel and aisle/wing to left a leaded-light with stained glass. C19 casement above, also in angle. To right of door a 16-pane unhorned sash with stone lintel. To centre of first floor a 2-light casement of 16 panes. Wing adjoining to left has French doors to left and centre, with overlight, and 12-pane casements above. To right a C19 canted bay with 12-pane sash above with segmented brick arch. North side of former chancel has C14 plank door within badly worn chamfered arch. Diagonal offset buttresses to south-east corner of former church, to north-east corner, and to late C18 wing to north. Interior: inserted C16 ceiling to ground storey, with moulded beams. C15 roof to first storey, probably original chancel roof, with C18/C19 roof above. Formerly Church of St. Peter. (Buildings of England: Warwickshire p.238)
