GV II The description shall be amended to read: Two barns, divided by a stable. Probably C18 and C19, assembled from possibly earlier components including some jowled posts of the C16 - C17 in the large barn except for western 4 bays of west range, probably C17. Timber-framed and weather- boarded with some red brick; plain tiled roofs. Large barn (to east): timber- framed and weatherboarded with red brick rebuilding of walls to south outshuts. Gabled mid-storey with doubled boarded doors to south, flanked by projecting out- shut to west with central stable door flanked by single casements. North side with doubled boarded doors in centre and casement window to right. Lean-to extension at east end. Stable and barn range (to west): timber-framed and weather- boarded to south with brick cladding to north; plain tiled roofs. A lower range, stepped down a shallow slope, projecting to the west of the large barn and with a north wing towards the west end of the range, the ridge of this wing just visible from the south over the main ridge of the range. Doubled boarded doors towards the left of south front of the range with single casement to right and lean-to stable further to right with stable door and casement to right. Shallow-pitched roofed brick wing projecting to south at extreme left end of wing. North front of range with various openings and corrugated-iron roofed lean-to in angle with north extension. Interiors: large barn - wall-framing mostly complete with mid-rail, long studs and straight braces. A mixture of types of jowled post, some dating from the C16 or C17. Some machine-sawn trusses with queen-post ties. Roof, with through-purlins, mostly rebuilt. West part - eight bays, the wall-framing on the north aide replaced in brick in Flemish bond. Wall-framing to south mostly complete with mid-rail, long studs and some straight braces. Evidence that the four bays to the west are earlier by the gunstock Jowled posts and trusses with raking queen struts, probably C17. Through-purlin roof throughout. The list was previously amended in respect of this entry on 21 January 1986.
