Details

The asset was previously listed twice also under the parish of Langport at List entry 1235760. That entry was removed from the List on 14 October 2024.

This entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 14 October 2024 to remove references to duplicate list entry and reference to source. The GIS triangle depiction was moved slightly from ST4155226636 to ST4156626640, thus placing it on the parish boundary between Langport and Curry Rivel which passes through the building. The grid reference was removed from the Details text.

Road bridge over River Parrett. Completed 1841. Local lias stone ashlar. Three wide elliptical arches with impost courses, and keystones to arches, band course over, then plain parapet, which is extended at each end into long wing walls: centre of bridge gently humped. Bridge first mention in 1220, it was last rebuilt by the Parrett Navigation Company, assisted by the corporation.
