NZ 2563 5/119 Clock Tower in forecourt to West of Town Hall II
2. 1892 made by Gillott and Johnson of Croydon.
Cast iron clock tower 25 ft high in Gothic style but with classical motifs within the panels. Three stages above a square plinth, then tile clock stage overhanging and surmounted by small open drum, ogee cupola and vane. Painted black and gold. Inscribed: PRESENTED TO THE BOROUGH OF GATESHEAD BY WALTER WILLSON, MAYOR 1892.
