GV II

Shown on O.S. map as Turnpike Cottage. House. Probably C17. Regular coursed ironstone rubble; steeply pitched C20 tiled roof; brick stacks to ends and ridge. 3-unit plan. Single storey plus attic. 3-window range. Panelled door to right has moulded wooden frame. C20 porch. 2 bay windows either side have hipped tiled roofs. To left a metal casement with wrought iron casement fastener inserted in a wood mullioned window, Attic has three 3-light windows, to left a wood mullioned window with inserted wooden casement and lead canes, a similar window with inserted metal casement and a wooden casement with renewed lead cames and wrought iron casement fasteners. All windows have wood lintels. Interior: Stop chamfered beans, chamfered bressumer to fireplace, renewed spiral staircase within original circular staircase projection. Workshop attached to right under stone slate roof. Curved corner site.
