HAMSTALL RIDWARE C.P. YOXALL ROAD SK 1019-1119 12/48 Sandborough Farmhouse -

Farmhouse. Probably C16 with later alterations and additions. Mainly red brick and a timber framed wing with brick infill panels, partly rebuilt in brick; plain tile roof; brick ridge stack and corner stack. T-shaped plan of principal range aligned north-west/south-east with through-passage and crosswing at the south-east end; late C18/C19 north-east projecting extension wing to the north-west end. South-west elevation. 2 storeys; casements with segmental heads to the loft and to the right hand gabled crosswing. The space between is occupied by a C20 conservatory with corrugated lean- to roof. Half glazed door to the right adjacent to the crosswing. North- east elevation. Gabled crosswing to the left with exposed queen strut roof truss carrying one pair of purlins and a ridge piece; gabled extension wing to the right. Recessed main range with C19 gabled porch to the left and irregular fenestration. The crosswing has exposed square panel framing to the side. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
