2. Late C18. North elevation red brick. Other elevations beach flint with red brick dressings. Rubbed and gauged brick voussoirs. Pitched slate roof. Red brick chimneys. Red brick blocking courses to gable ends, with slate coping. 2 storeys and basements. Brick modillion eaves cornice. Ground floor symmetrical about 3-centred arch framing 2 planked doors, 1 with original latch and keyhole. Behind arch is a flight of 10 brick steps, divided down centre by wall of beach flint, and leading to 2 brick paved courtyards. Flanking arch are 2 double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, underneath which are 2 casement windows with glazing bars to basement. 1st floor has 5 double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, one of No 53's blocked. 2 storey nodular flint extension to south of No 53: casement windows with glazing bars. Limestone paving stones in front of 3 central bays only.
Nos 43 to 57 (odd) and wall between Nos 49 and 51 form a group.
