5/10005 Manor Farm Oast GV II
Oasthouse. Probably 1860s. Yellow Flemish bond brick with tiled roofs. On a west-east axis with one kiln at the east end and a second, possibly later, on the north side. Both kilns circular with conical peg tiled roofs without cowls or fantails. Moulded brick cornice and cambered window openings. Unusually attractive architectural treatment to the stowage, perhaps because of its proximity to the Manor House. Stowage of 5 bays, the centre 3 recessed on the south side with deep eaves and a concrete platband with sunk panels. Three blocked arches in the centre on the ground floor; 3 first floor windows to the centre in a round-headed recess. The outer bays have double doors on the south side and Diocletian windows above. Steps to first floor doorway on east return of stowage. Rear elevation overgrown but sash windows visible. Interior has scissor-braced roof.
