5/28 Flat Head _ _ II
House dated 1627 with added cross-wing datd 1706. Thin coursed hammer dressed stone, ashlar quoins to wing, stone slate roof. Originally 3-room through- passage hall-and-cross-wing plan which has lost its service end (demolished). South front. All are double chamfered mullioned widows. West wing has 5-light window with hoodmould with decorated stops; 2-over 5-light stepped window to gable with hoodmould with stops inscribed "IMG", "1706". Housebody slightly set back has former 5-light window with 3-light window over to 1st floor and 2-light fire-window, to the right of which is a porch with Tudor arched doorway with cyma moulded surround and shields set in the spandrels. Coped gable with kneelers. Inner doorway has Tudor arched doorway with lintel inscribed "R1627W" T set within a tressure. This leads into through-passage. North door has similar doorway with lintel inscribed "IMC 1669" protected by open porch of unique design the 1st floor carried on octagonal column with 3-light window with arched lights. At right angles is rear wing with 6-light window with same over to 1st floor.
Interior: Housebody has bressumer and fireplace with flat arched lintel with moulded surround. Rear wing has large basket arched fireplace with moulded surround. King post roof.
