1/12 Woodland Farmhouse -
- II
Farmhouse; C17 core with major alterations of c.1840. 2 storeys, partly with attics. Timber-framed and plastered; some C18 or early C19 herringbone pargetting in large panels. Plaintiled roofs, the right-hand section pantiled. Axial chimneys of red brick, that to right is of C17. C19 small- pane sashes; in the c.1840 parlour wing to left are tripartite sashes. Pair of C19 glazed panelled entrance doors with open porch on posts; the bargeboards have fretted and cusped soffits. Probably a 3-cell mid C17 house of lobby-entrance type; but perhaps with earlier core at the centre, where the walls have been raised and a new roof built in C19. C17 framing exposed at the service end to right, the floor joists are laid flat in one room and on- edge in another, but are contemporary.
