GV II
Cowhouses, stables, barn and horse engine shed. Mid-C19. Chisel dressed ashlar; plain tile roofs with shaped tile bands and coped verges. Main stable range and barn aligned NE-SW facing SE and 2 attached cowhouses to the SE aligned NW-SE, the 3 ranges enclosing 3 sides of a courtyard, the fourth side is partly enclosed by a short range. Main (NW) range: 2 storeys; central full height, segmental headed carriage arch and square cupola over with pyramidal roof and wooden finial; left hand side of the arch has ground floor door with 2 ventilation loops to right of it, and a row of 4 ventilation loops to the left; right hand side has ground floor stable type door to right of centre flanked by 2 small casements, flight of stone steps to the right leading to-boarded loft door, loft casement to right of centre; 5-sided horse engine shed to rear of main range, NW of central arch with pair of doors to NW face, and horizontal sliding glazing bar sashes; single storey stable to NE of central arch with 3 stable type doors to SW face. NE range: 1 storey; 5 boarded doors; top opening glazing bar window to left, kennel arch to right. SW range: 1 storey; double leaved board door to left, stable doors to left of centre and centre, 2 blocked doorways to right of centre, sliding door to right; central door flanked by 2 square openings, the left hand one boarded, the right hand one blocked. SE range: 1 storey, boarded openings to left and centre, hipped roof. Calwich Home Farmhouse is not included.
