2 town houses with later shops. C18, refronted and remodelled c1830. Granite ashlar to ground floor, rendered stucco on studwork with 3 giant Ionic pilasters to upper floors, mid-floor band to No.7 (left); 1st-floor carved sill aprons No.5 is mostly render replacing stucco; scantle slate (No.7) and asbestos slate hipped roof with projecting eaves over carved frieze: No.7 with original guttae to soffit over a moulded band; brick stack on right and over party wall. Double-depth plan plus rear service wings at right-angles. 3 storeys; overall 5-window 2nd-floor range. No.5 has three C20 16-pane hornless sashes within moulded architraves to 2nd floor and two C20 pilastered canted bays with moulded cornices and horned sashes with glazing bars; late C20 shop front. No.7 has late C19 four-pane horned sashes over central late C19 pilastered canted bay with hornless sashes and moulded cornice with brackets. Ground floor of No.7 has remains of early C20 shop front with end pilasters and moulded entablature with end consoles, No.5 has C20 shop windows between original ashlar masonry. INTERIOR not inspected. The classical facade to No.7 is particularly distinguished.
