GV II

House. Dated 1725. For Lawrence Danson, with remains of house dated 1699. Coursed squared gritstone, purple slate roof with 4 eaves courses of stone slates. 2 storeys with attics, 5 bays, with low 2-storey, 2-bay range attached at right angles, left. Plinth and quoins. Central glazed door in eared architrave with plaque over carved in relief: 'LAWRENCE DANSON'; cornice above. Windows, ground floor left: 4-pane sashes in flush-wood and stone architraves, the sills lowered; right and first floor: 2-light flat- faced mullions in stone architraves. Apron panel with projecting jambs links central first-floor window with doorway. Eaves raised. Roof rebuilt, shaped kneelers, ashlar gable coping, end corniced stacks. Lower range: gable front: quoins; board door to right with chamfered quoins and lintel dated 1699; shaped kneelers, ashlar coping; stack to gable; right return has a 2-light flat-faced mullion window in architrave to each floor. Right return of main range: far right: half-glazed 4-panel door with chamfered quoined jambs, stepped chamfer to lintel and inscription 'LD 1725'; 2-light recessed-chamfered mullion window above, and blocked recessed gable window. Interior not inspected.
