Formerly known as: No.13 ST OWEN STREET. House, now surgery and offices. C18 with mid C19 front to earlier core. Rear has Dutch gables and attached Orangery. Brick; Welsh slate roof; brick end stacks. 3 storeys and cellar; 5-window range: mid C19 plain sashes with corbelled sills and moulded architraves with hoods; stone band; 3/3 sashes over; corbelled stone cornice to parapet. Central entrance: 4-fielded-panel door with overlight and screen, in stucco doorcase under moulded stone hood on polished granite columns; flanked by pairs of plain sashes in similar cases. 2-storey wings to side with 6/6 sashes and to left C19 part-glazed panelled door and overlight. Wing walls have ornate iron railings with pillars, gate piers and double gates. INTERIOR: C18 open well staircase with bobbin balusters; C18 panelling and moulded ceiling; margin-glazed round-headed staircase light; marble columns and pilasters. Top floor: 2-panel doors; C19 fireplaces; stair cupboard. 1st floor: bolection-moulded fireplace; ceiling cornice; 6-panel doors; overlights; 4-panel doors; corner fireplace; wall cupboards; panelling; mantelpiece; panelling; 2- and 4-panel doors; wood lined arch; C17 carved overmantel (not in situ). Ground floor: wing to rear: ceiling cornice; arch architraves; carved fire surround and overmantel; moulded 4-centred arch fireplace; part-glazed panelled doors, 2 with rounded heads; 3-light door with coloured leaded lights; ceiling cornices; coved panelling; alcove with sideboard; marble fire surround. Hall: C17? panelling with frieze; panelled doors. Cellar: round-headed door; cobbled floor; two 2-panel doors; mostly brick-lined. The house was reputedly the Town House of the Scudamore family whose seat was Home Lacy House, and the fine panelling on the 1st-floor landing may have come from there. (RCHME).
