9/70 Throstle Nest
GV II
House. Probably late C18 - early C19 reusing mid-late C17 masonry. Coursed squared gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the left bay recessed. Quoins. Central C20 half-glazed door in moulded surround with ogee decoration to lintel, in 2-storey jettied gabled porch. Upper porch storey has 3-light stepped recessed-chamfered mullion window with hoodmould, gable coping with kneelers and ball finials. Large 2-light mullion windows with hoodmoulds, the sill levels probably lowered, flank porch. First floor: on left a 6-light recessed-chamfered mullion window divided into 4 and 2 lights by a king mullion; on right a similar 4-light window. Gable coping, cavetto moulded kneelers, end stacks - corniced to left, banded to right. Rear: projecting C18 or C19 wing and lean-to additions; no original openings visible. Interior: no early plan-form visible; the C17 masonry in the facade may be reused, see White Oak Farm.
