Pair of small town houses. c.1860. Red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Shallow double-depth plan, each house double-fronted. Two storeys, 3+3 windows, a symmetrical range with a plain frieze and moulded gutter cornice (stepped down slightly at the junction), a through-lobby doorway in the centre, and each facade symmetrical. The doorways have moulded architraves with cornices on consoles, and panelled doors with overlights (that at No.13 lettered "REGENT HOUSE"); the lobby doorway (which is very small) has a plain surround. The windows have raised sills and wedge lintels, those at No.11 sashed without glazing bars, and No.12 with 12-pane sashes; heads of cellar windows on both sides. Ridge chimneys. Rear: very shallow back yards. INTERIOR: No.14 has entrance hall with stick-baluster staircase, front parlour to left, small dining to right, shallow scullery to rear of parlour and kitchen to rear of dining room; some moulded plaster. Matches nos 11 and 12 to left (q.v.) and Nos 15 and 16 to right (q,v.), and complements Nos.2 to 8 opposite (q.v.).
