Public house and attached shop. Mid C19, altered. Stucco on brick, with sandstone dressings, slate roof. Double-depth plan. Three storeys. No.83 (The Lamb Hotel) has a 3-window symmetrical facade with a plinth, pilasters to ground floor, a central doorway with cavetto jambs under a very prominent semi-circular 1st-floor oriel which has 3 curved sashed windows and is supported by 2 slender iron columns; wide rectangular windows at ground floor with aprons, raised sills, moulded surrounds and altered glazing; sashed windows on the upper floors all with moulded architraves; a moulded gutter cornice, and side-wall chimneys stacks in front and behind the ridge. Rear has addition to ground floor and altered windows above. Interior altered. No.84 to the right has C20 shop front at ground floor, 2 widely-spaced 4-pane sashed windows at 1st floor and 3 similar windows at 2nd floor (that in the centre smaller); and a moulded gutter cornice carried across from No.83 to the left. Rear and INTERIOR not inspected.
