GV II

House. Mid C18 with a front block added early C19. Red brick. Roof of black-glazed pantiles (front) and red pantiles (rear wing). Front of 2 storeys, dominated by a central full-height square porch of c1820 and a full-height canted bay right and left of 1905-10. The porch is an addition. Central 6-panelled door with panelled reveals. The timber doorcase has engaged reeded demi-columns rising to a reeded entablature with roundels at the top corners. Flat hood. Above is a plate-glass sash with margin bars, 1905. The south-west side of the porch has a 6/6 sash each floor, the north-east side one blind window each floor, the upper one with painted-on glazing bars. The canted bays right and left have plate-glass 1905 sashes with margin bars. Gabled roof with internal gable-end stacks. The rear has a C20 glazed half-door to the left, one 1905 sash right with margin bars, one 2/2 sash first floor. 2-storey rear wing extending north-west. Two late C18 6/6 sashes each floor to the north-east side, although that to the lower left is a replacement. The rear also has 2 late C18 6/6 sashes each floor, now with exposed boxes. The lower left here is a replacement too. Interior not inspected. Attached by a wall is an early C19 stables with a coach house added c1840. Whole coursed flints with brick quoins and dressings. Pantiled roof. 2 storeys. The north-east side has 2 central plank doors. Over the stables is a swivel window with glazing bars under a segmental head. Gabled roof with an internal north gable-end stack. The rear has a line of quoins showing the extent of the former stables when free-standing. One small window right. One late C20 casement left under the eaves. INTERIOR. The coach house has a stick baluster staircase rising to the upper floor. The roof is plastered.
