Includes: No.38 HIGH STREET. Group of 3 houses. c1830. Flemish bond brickwork with slate roof. 2 storys, 6-window range to Chapel Street, and 3-window return (1 window blind) to High Street. Houses differently planned to accommodate to corner site, No.51 a single-unit double pile plan, No.53 a 2-unit, single-depth plan. No.38 High Street a single unit, double depth plan. No.51 has doorway to right, and No.53 has central door. The houses are separated at ground floor level by a passage to rear. 6-panelled doors with radial fanlights in reeded architraves set in stepped brick arches. Plain plank door with radial fanlight to central passage. Windows are 16-pane sashes (12-pane sashes over doorways) with stone sills forming continuous band at first floor, and stone voussoir heads. No.38 High Street has similar doorcase with blind window over, the right hand windows on each floor renewed. Axial stacks.
