GV II

Terraced houses. Early C19. Yellow and brown brick set in Flemish bond, stucco, roof obscured by parapet. The terrace breaks back between nos 6 and 8, and nos 8 and 10, and forward between nos 18 and 20 and nos 36 and 38. Three storeys over basement, two windows each. Steps up to elliptical-arched entrance with gauged brick heads; wooden pilaster jambs, cornice and fanlight over, decorative glazing to all except nos 6-10, 14 and 34, panelled doors of original design. Ground-floor windows round-arched with gauged brick heads and recessed 6/6 sashes. All upper windows flat-arched with gauged brick heads and recessed 6/6 sashes, many renewed; first-floor windows have piano nobile proportions and are set within a recessed round-arched panel with gauged brick heads, the round arches linked by stucco springing bands; iron balconies to nos l4, 18, 34, 36 and 40. Narrow brick string course and parapet. Most houses appear rebuilt in the area of the parapet. No 6 has a late C20 round-arched stuccoed and rusticated archway to recessed entrance. Area railings with spearhead finials.
