Almshouses. C14 foundation, rebuilt 1805 by Wood of Hereford. Ashlar sandstone; stone tile roof; 6 brick ridge stacks. Single storey; central 2-leaf plank door under chamfered 4-centred arch, with hood moulding and tablet with episcopal seal, over; flanked by 2-light lancets with Gothic-glazed heads and lattice leaded lights; pilasters with armorial shields, and castellated parapet overall; 4 similar lights to each side. Dressed sandstone to returned side. Rear: 10-window range of 2-light mullion casements with lattice leaded glazing; blocked 4-light stone mullion window; central 4-centred arch with reset C14 arch and panel over, flanked by pilasters to castellated parapet; leaded lights and doors under pentice roof. INTERIORS: with C19 rail and supports. 1st floor: exposed purlins. Ground floor: chamfered ceiling beams; wall cupboards. (Duncumb J: History of the County of Hereford: 1804-: 432-433; RCHME).
