Attached house. 1765. By Thomas Paty. Render with limestone dressings, gable stacks and a pantile hipped roof. Double-depth plan. Mid Georgian style. 3 storeys, attic and basement; 5-window range. Formerly a symmetrical front, now with a mid C19 right-hand 2-storey canted bay, the middle 3 windows broken forward, plat band, cornice and parapet cut through for 2 dormers. The doorway has a bracketed pediment, stepped key to the architrave, 3-pane fanlight and 6-panel door. Architraves to the windows, one semicircular-arched over the doorway with 6/6-pane sash with thick glazing bars, 6/6-pane ground-floor sashes, plate-glass above. 6/6-pane sashes to the rear. The bay has a cornice and plate-glass sashes with margin panes. C20 dormers. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached front basement area balustrade. Similar to Boyce's Buildings (qv), and the adjoining Prospect House (qv), and probably like them originally with Gibbs surrounds to the windows.
