Pair of attached houses. c1780. Render with limestone dressings, brick gable and lateral stacks and slate roof. Double-depth plan. Mid Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys and attic; 2-window range. An unequal pair linked by a continuous moulded parapet coping. Harley is symmetrical with a bracketed canopy and 6-panel door; horned sashes with margin panes to the ground and first floors, and 2/2-pane second-floor sashes, in exposed frames. Roof not visible at the front, slate to the rear. Penrose narrower, a right-hand doorway with a small canopy and 6-panel door, 2/2-pane sashes to ground and second floors, plate-glass first-floor sashes, in exposed frames. Steep roof and tall left-hand gable and rear stacks; rear service block with a pyramidal pantile roof. INTERIOR not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron front garden railings and gates with urn finials, and gate piers with domed caps.
