GV II
Pair of houses, now shop, dwelling and offices. Early C19 with older origins, altered C20. Rendered to front, slate roof, brick ridge and end stacks. L-plans. 3-storey, 4-window range. No.21 to right has central C20 door with panelled reveals, moulded wood surround with paterae to corners, and thin straight hood, flanked by C20 shop windows. No.22 has 6-panel, part-glazed door with similar surround to right of C20 window. 16-pane sash windows to 1st floor, and 12-pane sashes to 2nd floor some with old crown glass. Plinth and bracketed wood eaves. Central rainwater head with star over crescent in relief. 2-storey wings to rear continued by single-storey wings housing outbuildings, with plain-tile roofs. INTERIOR: wing to No.21 has chamfered spine beam with ogee stops to ground floor and cellar with chamfered spine beam. No.22 has elliptical-arched opening off passage giving access to staircase which has ramped mahogany handrail and stick balusters. Old kitchen in wing has spine beam and fitted dresser.
