TL 31NW WARE RURAL MARDOCKS 5/64 Ash Cottage 300 metres W of Mardocks Farm
GV II
House. C17 or earlier with late C17 parlour wing at E. Timber frame roughcast with smooth margins at corners and openings. Old red tile roof. Tarred brick plinth. A long 2-storeys building with higher block at E. Lobby entrance by central chimney in higher block serving both. Rear outshut extension to E block. Front facing N has 4 2-light casement windows and C19 cabled timber porch with shaped bargeboard. Small upper windows under- eaves in long main block with large external gable chimney serving ground floor only at W end. S front plastered with ground floor dark weatherboard. Half-glazed door with flat hood on brackets. 2-light casement window to left with small panes.
