3/156 Stable block - c. 30 metres north of Lisieux Hall

GV II

Stable block, probably early C19. Yellow sandstone with hipped slate roof. L-shaped plan. Two storeys; symmetrical 5-bay facade of dressed stone with moulded gutter cornice and pedimented gable to the centre (containing a blank tablet); arched wagon entrance (now blocked) has segmental head with keystone; a modern door to right of this; otherwise, 4 rectangular ground floor windows and 5 square 1st floor windows. Left return wall of coursed rubble has, inter alia, a wagon doorway with cambered wooden lintel, a triple keystone set on the centre, and above this a square tablet with heavily worn coat of arms (illegible).
