PARK LANE 1. 1614 (South Side) ------------ No 1 (Vine House) TQ 5355/2/93 13.4.51

II GV 2. Dated 1731. 3-window facade, 2 storeys. Red brick elevation with flat arches over windows of rubbed red headers. Parapet with painted stone coping. Flipped mansard slate roof with 3 flat-roofed leaded downers. Moulded stone plinth. Carved stone reed-moulded band over centre doorway, stopped at bays, and continued at either end and on side elevations. Another continuous band above lst floor windows with small carved rosettes. Centre panelled door with fanlight over, recessed in round-headed arch. Fanlight with tracery. Moulded stucco surround to arch with heavy rusticated quoins and voussoirs. Centre voussoir carved with head of Bacchus. Panelled reveals. Projecting brick bays on either side of doorway carried up 2 storeys with parapet and concealed flat roof. Bays containing sash windows with glazing bars removed. C18 sash window with glazing bars in centre on lst floor. Painted reveals to windows. Elevation to rear facing yard with C18 double doors with "fish door knockers" and fanlight over with tracery.

No1 (Vine House) Railings, Garden Wall and No 3 form a group.
