2/5 Brewer Street Farm House 11/6/58 I
House. C15, C16 alterations with restoration and extension to north in 1850; further restoration in C20. Close stud timber framing on brick plinth with rendered infill, hipped, horsham slab roof with end stacks to right, rear end stack to left and front ridge stack to left of centre. Former Hall house, 2 storeys, 3 framed bays; gabled end cross wings with jettied first floors, curly bargeboards and moulded dragon posts to corners. 4 leaded casement windows across first floor, square bay window to centre of ground floor. Ribbed door to left wing under four-centre arched surround. Right hand return front: Brick and wealdstone below, applied timber above. Extension to rear in similar style.
Interior: much framing visible in good repair. The house is a very good example of its type.
