MIDDLETON IN TEESDALE COLDBERRY MINE NY92NW NY94062906 14/94 Former explosives store at south side 26.6.87 of track GV II Mine explosives store, possibly originally stable and lodging shop. Probably early C19 with mid C19 adaptation. Coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins; stone-flagged roof. 2 storeys, 3 narrow bays, with rear back entry to first-floor. Front elevation to track has central blocked door under flat stone lintel, with stone slab behind slit opening in blocking. Wood lintel and sill to blocked opening above. Left return has blocked door towards front. Right return has 2 copper loops, which formerly held lightning conductor, and narrow vent slit in gable peak. Rear first-floor door, blocked with zinc sheet, under wood lintel and wood brackets for hood.

Present use not known.
