Bank. c1860s-70s. Granite ashlar with channelled rustication to ground floor; stucco on masonry with rusticated quoins and moulded strings to upper floors; dry Delabole slate roof with modillioned eaves including octagonal roof with finial on right; 1 axial brick stack; cast-iron ogee gutter. Round-fronted corner site plan with octagonal-plan tower on its right. 3 storeys with polygonal 4-storey tower to right; 4-window range plus window to each external bay of tower. Top tower casements between angle pilasters; otherwise horned sashes; between pilasters to 2nd floor of main range and within architraves to tower, within pilasters with consoles and entablature with nowy-headed hoods to 1st floor. Ground floor has original round-arched doorway on the left, 2 sashes on its right then wide C20 double-transomed shop front with side doorway on its left and doorway to 2nd bay of tower; full-width stepped fascia. INTERIOR not inspected but likely to be of interest. One of a good group of this period in Windsor Place, all treated in a robust classical style. This building is also notable for its contribution to the streetscape, especially to The Parade.
