II
Threshing barn with waggon shed and stables with remains of attached water-powered engine house. Mid C19. Mixed rubble walls with slatestone, granite and elvan and some granite dressings; rag slate roof, cement-grouted at the front with red clay ridge tiles including one reused C17 hand-made crested tile. Rectangular plan, slightly deeper to rear on the left plus remains of later engine house behind the left-hand side. Barn has threshing floor left of centre, and is built into the bank on the left. 2 storeys; 2-window range front. Threshing doorway left of middle; slit ventilator and pigeon holes on the left and 2 windows on the right with ventilated heads. The threshing doorway and the one opposite (rear wall) and a similar doorway at the left-hand end wall, have slate hoods on wooden corbels and original planked doors with the right-hand doors divided to give ventilation control. Ground floor has wide central doorway with shouldered head and smaller door at left and far right, all chamfered. Engine house is roofless and the walls are partly fallen; very wide doorway on the left. INTERIOR not inspected but retains its original floors and roof structure. A finely-crafted example.
