Public house, formerly hotel. Early C19. Painted stucco. 3 storeys and cellar. 5 windows (1 blind) and canted 1 window, 2-storey wing to right. Recessed central entrance with overlight and good cast-iron canopy of enriched brackets (left-hand missing) supporting a hipped glass roof with cast-iron cresting to ridge and base cornice. Entrance flanked by segmental-arched windows, those to left with etched glass; left-hand bay with segmental-arched entrance having a part-glazed door with 2 fielded panels. Upper floors with 12-pane hornless sashes (2nd floor, 2nd right-hand blind) and, above canopy, a blind, architraved, segmental-headed window flanked by canted bay oriels with 2-pane sashes. Coped parapet. INTERIOR not inspected. All the listed buildings in High Street form a group.
