Cottage. c1809. Squared, uncoursed Pennant rubble, brick eaves stack and slate roof. 2 storeys; 2-window range to S elevation. Decorative barge-boards with finials to the gable ends, doorway from the road at first-floor level with 4-panel door and cast-iron plaque above inscribed BUILDING 1/ BRISTOL DOCKS; ground-floor door at rear. 2-light plate-glass sashes with jambs. INTERIOR: lobby to glazed screen, washstand, plain fireplace; store on the ground floor. Netham Lock (qv) is the upstream entrance to the Feeder Canal and the Floating Harbour, designed and built by William Jessop in 1804-9. (Lord J and Southam J: The Floating Harbour: Bristol: 1983-: 36).
