GV II

Terrace of 4 houses, now 3. c1840. Stucco with limestone dressings, party wall stacks, and a slate mansard roof to Nos 2 & 3, not visible to No.4. Double-depth plan. Each of 2 storeys and basement; 3-window range, Nos 2 & 3 with an attic. Formerly a composed terrace with Nos 2 & 3 forming the centre; articulated by pilasters, with ashlar bands above the basement, ground-floor plat band, cornice and parapet, and the ground floor slightly raised; central ashlar porches have pilasters, cornice and blocking course, with steps up to half-glazed doors. 8/8-pane sashes, the outer ones set within shallow, full-height recessed bays. Nos 2 & 3 have 2 dormers with 8/8-pane sashes. The left-hand end of the plat band is inscribed PITVILLE PLACE. INTERIOR: central stair halls with dogleg stairs with stick balusters, some stone fire surrounds, and shutters.
