ST6270 BONVILLE ROAD, Brislington 901-1/49/445 (North West side) 04/03/77 Oakenhill Farmhouse

II

House. C17. Rendered, with brick ridge and gable end stacks and pantiled roof, half-hipped on the left. Double-depth plan with through passage and single-storey rear outshut. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. The entrance in a full-height gabled stair block to right of centre, with gableted finial base at the top of the coping, and small C20 windows. Windowless to the right, and a ground-floor 6/6-pane sash to the left, with a worn Pennant label. The right-hand gabled return has small casements to the ground and first floors with horizontal bars and worn label moulds. The left gable has a 2-window range of 6/6-pane sashes in flush frames, and a single 3/3-pane sash to the attic. INTERIOR: flagged through passage from the porch, with a winder stair from the right of the doorway. A rare survival of Brislington's pre-industrial past.
