GV II
House, now offices. Late C18, with C19 and C20 alteration. Front of ashlar, red brick at right side, rendered left side, with timber eaves cornice; rear wing of rubble stone, partly rendered. Pantile roof with coped gables and shaped kneelers, and rebuilt brick end stacks. Central entry plan with rear wing. 3-storey-and-attic front on basement plinth; 5 windows. 3 steps up to front door of 6 raised-and-fielded panels, with overlight, in architrave; moulded cornice hood on enriched brackets beneath shallow parapet pierced by roundels. On each side, bow windows with glazing bars inserted in original window openings with keyed lintels. At end right, inserted doorcase with panelled pilasters and dentil cornice containing 4-panel door with overlight. Windows are tall single-pane sashes on first floor, and squatter 4-pane sashes on second floor. All windows have stone sills on block brackets, and keyed architraves, the first-floor centre one pedimented with pulvinated frieze. Raised quoins, and raised first-floor band, broken in centre by doorcase parapet. Flat dormer with 2-light large-pane sliding sash inserted in attic. INTERIOR: stairhall at rear, with staircase rising around well through full height of house; open-string, with column-on- vase balusters, ramped-up, moulded handrail and shaped treadends.
