Carpet manufacturing mill, now flats. Dated `1846 J M & Ss'. For Joshua Monkhouse and Sons. Coursed, roughly squared sandstone with pecked irregular quoins and ashlar dressings; roof of stone slates with stone and brick chimneys. 3 high storeys; 12-window range. C20 half-glazed doors in bays: 2, 6, 7, 10 and 12, with flat stone lintels. Similar lintels and projecting stone sills to small plain sashes in third and fourth bays, mullioned-and-wide-transomed windows in first 2 bays, and 4-pane sashes in others. Paired lights on ground floor in fifth bay. Blocked loading door, wth window inserted, on first floor in 8th bay. Blocked high elliptical vehicle arch over door and window of No.26; inscribed stone plaque above this at second-floor level. Roof has 2 end chimneys of stone and 3 later intermediate chimneys of brick. INTERIOR: not inspected.
