SX25NE ST MARTIN 857-1/1/56 St Martin's Manor 17/09/73 (Formerly Listed as: ST MARTIN The Rectory)

GV II

Former rectory, now a private house. Early C19, possibly containing earlier fabric. Stucco removed to reveal local rubble showing evidence of extension; rendered eared surrounds to openings; dry slate hipped roof with deep eaves and low-pitched gable over entrance front; rendered stack to front gable. Plan: 3 rooms deep with garden front on the left; central cross passage to central stair hall on right. 2 storeys; nearly symmetrical 3-window entrance front. Original hornless sashes with glazing bars (also to garden front); blind glazed windows left of doorway with 12-pane window over wide tripartite window; wide C20 fixed light with glaxing bars to ground floor right; 12-pane sash over, also over central doorway with pair of original glazed doors with margin panes and unfluted distyle Doric porch with hipped slate roof. Symmetrical 3-window garden front with 12-pane sashes over tripartite sashes and central doorway with pair of glazed doors. INTERIOR: not inspected but said to retain original staircase, otherwise much altered C20.
