Details
LITHERLAND LINACRE ROAD SJ 39 NW (east side) 9/84 131-137 (odd) (formerly Methodist Sunday School) G.V. II School, now factory. Dated in pediment, 1914. Red brick and yellow terracotta. 3 storeys, 9 bays, the 1st 3 bays lower. Sill courses and cornices, top panelled parapet. End brick angle pilasters and pilaster between 3rd and 4th bays; 2nd, 5th and 8th bays emphasised by panelled terracotta pilasters above ground floor and top pediments; that to 2nd bay with date, the other 2 are open. Ground floor windows are segmental headed. 1st floor elliptical- headed windows, those to 5th and 8th bays have panelled aprons. 2nd floor elliptical-headed windows, those to emphasised bays are round headed. 2nd bay window has panelled apron, those to end 6 bays have projecting sills on ornate brackets. Left return to Hartwell Street similar, of 2 bays with 3-bay terracotta centre. Paired segmental- headed-central entrances with flanking narrow windows and 2nd bay entrance, 2nd floor central venetian window with panelled apron and festoons flanking segmental gable. Right return has pediment with date. Included for group value.
