Lodge with cowhouse. c.1733-40, by William Kent. Limestone ashlar; gabled stone
slate roof. 2 storeys; 3-bay. Central projecting bay has 2 niches set over
storey band and semi-circular archway with imposts. Similar niches to outer
bays. Crenelled parapet with graduated niches to stepped gable ends. To rear is
semi-circular archway to cowhouse. Interior: sheltered seat faces Palladian
Gateway (q.v.). Part of the landscape gardens laid out by William Kent
c.1733-40.
