House. Late C16. 2 storeys and attics to main house, which has a 2-cell
internal-chimney form; 5 bays. Timber-framed and rendered; C20 plaintiled
roof. The internal stack has a large red brick shaft with projecting headers
and 4 ornate chimney-pots. Various C20 casement windows, and one large
Edwardian bay with a tented roof. 2 gabled dormers. Enclosed C20 porch. The
frame is complete inside, and much of it exposed: ground floor ceilings with
ogee stops to main beams and unchamfered joists set flat; 2 open fireplaces
with plain timber lintels. Roof in 5 bays, corresponding to the wall bays,
with one row of butt purlins and clasped purlin above; the main components
have assembly-marks. A 1½ storey section, to the north of the main house, has
been so much modernised that it is not included in the listing.
