Town house and shop, now shop and offices. Late C16. Originally timber-framed with jettied first floor; in late C19 ground floor underbuilt in brick and first and attic floors re-walled in mock timber framing and tile cladding; old tile roof; brick stacks. Single-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range. C20 shop front. Pedimented 2-light cross-windows to first floor, similar without pediment above. Cross-gabled roof; lateral stack. Left side wall has attic window with 2 trefoil-headed lights and 2 narrow gable walls to rear. No.22, to right of No.21 has 2-storey, one-bay front of late C19 English bond brink, with gabled old tile roof, brick stack to rear wall, C20 door and late C19 sashes to front and right side wall. Interior: No.21, has original cellar with stone steps and chamfered beams; chamfered beams and dragon-beam to ground floor; chamfered beam and mid C18 panelling to first floor, and original roof structure. No.22 has 2-bay arch-braced collar truss with large jointed, chamfered and curved post to right; set of chamfered beams to ground floor; in rear first-floor room is late C17 panelled door, bolection-moulded fireplace and adjoining panelling.
