House. Said to be 1830 for James Haughton Langston with minor late C20 additions and alterations. Roughly coursed limestone rubble with quoins; hipped plain tile roofs with boldly projecting eaves to main range. Irregular plan, entered from north-west via porch. 2 storeys on chamfered plinth. Garden front in 1:1:1 bays, centre section forming hip-roofed break with tripartite glazing bar sash on each floor; glazing bar sash on first floor to left and right over contemporary glazed French casements. Ridge stack to left of centre and integral lateral stack to right. Single-storey attached outbuilding to left given second storey in late C20 to form extension to house. Flat-roofed porch on north-west side has chamfered round-headed arch over flush 4-panel door with semi-circular fanlight. Said to have been built for James Haughton Langston for the use of the curate of Churchill (local information). [2498]
