Barn and attached stables. Early C19 with later alterations. Regularly coursed
limestone and marlstone rubble with alternating angle quoins carried up to gable
ends; machine tile roof with coped verges to barn, concrete tiles to stables.
Barn with lower stable range attached to left. Barn has wide entrance in second
bay from left with opposing segmental-arched opening to road side. Inserted
garage door to right and stone ridge stack with dripstone and moulded capping
between. Stables have central chamfered cambered doorway with flanking narrow
rectangular windows, right chamfered. Raking eaves hatch in angle with barn and
gabled dormer in middle of roof slope to centre. Fire Insurance plate to gable
end. Interior. Barn has collar and tie beam roof in 2 bays with double
butt-purlins up to stone wall on line with right jamb of threshing entrance.
Stables have C19 cowstalls, trough and cobblestone floor. Loft has double
butt-purlin roof with central collar and tie bean truss. Forms part of a good
farmyard group. Included for group value.
