GV II

House, now 2 houses. Early C17. Roughcast front over square timber framing with diagonal braces which are exposed to right gable and rear: thatched roof; brick stacks, 3-unit lobby-entry plan (door covered over). 2-storey, 3-window range of C20 casements. One C20 door to left (Mallards Cottage): The Old Post Office entered via C20 extension to right. Hipped and gabled roof with ridge and end stacks. Interior: The Old Post Office has chamfered and stopped beams and open fireplace in right room, stairs originally adjoining stack and opposite entry. Queen post roof with clasped pulins and windbraces. Interior of Mallards Cottage not inspected.
