Details
CORSHAM HIGH STREET ST 8770 (west side) 5/215 No 61 (The Old Bank House) 20.12.60 GV II
House, C17 altered in early to mid C18, rubble stone with stone tiled roof and end wall stacks. Two-and-a-half storeys, 5-window range. Three coped dormer gables with saddlestones and parapets between, apparently built up later, and three 2-light recessed cyma-moulded mullion windows with hoodmoulds and small-paned lights. Main floors have raised plinth, raised ashlar angle strips and dripcourse over first floor. Five first floor large 12-pane sashes in raised moulded surrounds, 4 ground floor plate glass sashes in narrower segmental-headed raised surrounds with keystones and central door in moulded architrave with pediment on console brackets. Six-panel door. Large ashlar paired rear wings with 16- pane sash windows. Interior has fielded panelled shutters and window seats, fielded panelled doors and C17 stair to first floor with scratch moulded rail and newels with acorn finials.
