Smithy with one-unit cottage and 3 adjoining cottages in row. C17 (Teallach & Craven Cottages) and late C18. Uncoursed sarsen rubble, uncoursed chalk rubble to rear; brick quoins and dressings (Old Forge Cottage): uncoursed sarsen rubble, chalk quoins (Teallach Cottage); squared and coursed chalk on sarsen base, chalk quoins (Craven Cottage); chalk and sarsen rendered over (adjoining end cottage) thatched except old tile roof to Old Forge Cottage: brick stacks. 2-storey (Old Forge Cottage), otherwise 1 1/2 - storey, 9-window range. C20 doors except ledged door to 1 1/2 storey section of Old Smithy Cottage; one late C19 two-light casement to cottage adjoining Teallach Cottage; C20 casements except 2 mid-late C19 three-light casements to ground floor of Teallach Cottage; wood lintels and segmental brick arches over all doors and windows. Ground floor of Old Smithy Cottage has brick band with segmental brick arches linking 5-bay arcade C2 doors (one blocked) and 3 central windows (1 blocked) Gabled roof; stacks. Interior of Old Smithy: 2 forging hearths; 3- bay queen-strut roof with butt purlins: other cottages have chamfered and stopped beams.
